If Nature had Revenge Rules

If Nature had Revenge Rules

If it was drunk, if it was sniffling something, if it blew out whitish smoke, how am I visualising a lean pine leaf doing all this? It’s easy. Just pull out its leafy veins, give it some addiction tools, and lean back. See how it gets lulled.

I don’t think it could work today; you know, it’s regular photosynthesis work or oxygen-carbon dioxide work. Well, I’m just informing. If it’s possible, I could yell really loud and say to the other leaves, "Hey! It’s not working today, and tomorrow it's going to have a hangover...bear with its "new" trait. Don’t worry, some humans are doing it. It’s not much. It'll just die."

I just saw a bird swooping down from a broad branch. It sneered and then pulled out a matchbox from its weird wing pocket. It stoked a stick on the matchbox with its shiny beak. It slipped the burning matchstick into a plastic garbage box. The garbage box popped. The bird sat on a wall. It breathed the "fresh" plastic-smelling burning air. "Well done," the bird said, patting its own back. It thought, "I saw some humans doing this. They know this feeling. It’s quite like an "achievement," especially on some so-called awareness days."

An elephant walked fast with an axe in its trunk. It threw that forcefully at another elephant. It died immediately. The dead one didn’t know the meaning of tyranny. This one showed. The elephant said, "Well, I just gave a demo! Any human would understand."

If we, as humans, can go out of nature’s rules, then why do others keep on doing the same "boring" things? Why are only "others" responsible for keeping nature "intact"? It can’t be their lifelong duty. They also have equal rights. They’re also part of the earth. They need a law passed. They should say aloud, "Hey humans, are you ready to see queerness from the wilds?"

I don’t want to give some well-revised list of "what to do" or "what not to do" to save the earth. We know them all. I just want to picture peculiarities where we would just imagine some actions from wilds. We humans do that shamelessly; we cover that up with grinning expressions; we ignore when our species keeps on doing the same nasty stuff. If nature had a boomerang, what would she do? If one day nature starts behaving like an irresponsible human, what will happen? If nature uses one of her revenge rules and secludes only humans from her shelter, then where will these "smart-logical brave stupids" go?

Even if everything sounds like a shot of imbecilic imagination, we will even say that it will never happen…blah blah blah. But one thing is very clear that only humans have failed to keep nature alive. The "others" are saving nature, as they consciously or unconsciously know that they are not cursed with greedy intelligence like we humans are. They are typically "dumb" or "insensible" in our polished languages. But they don’t try to rub off nature. That’s their blessing.

I don’t know if this horror of global warming will ever end or not. But I can just step up with one thing, and that is to follow the basic nature rules. That isn’t hard, and it doesn’t even need any study or research. It only needs our sensitive and serious attention. How we breathe, we can’t change the pattern even if it’s "boring". We can’t say, "Hey, just take a break today!" We are abiding by this rule. And we need to do the same for other nature stuff. We can’t kick a stray cat, cage an endangered bird, or cut down a series of giant trees for any luxurious apartment project. If I keep jotting down the list, it will never end. But whenever we see something "unnatural" in nature, we can say, "I won’t tolerate." One firm statement and one stern reminder can make a difference. Even if it’s little, it’s there. That one move becomes the Ina* moment. It’s simple, bow down to nature. We are here only because of her mercy.

(*In Sanskrit, Ina (इन).—a. means determined or anything that is powerful.)
