A Beauty Blender, Facial Mist and Music Therapy-How All are Synchronised

A Beauty Blender, Facial Mist and Music Therapy- How All are Synchronised

I am not very pro with makeup hacks. Until this New Year's Eve, I didn’t have proper makeup essentials except for a BB cream and a mascara. And I never had a makeup pouch. This Christmas, my childhood friend came to my place and hopped, “Do you think makeup is only about blushing the cheeks? No, it lifts your confidence. Get a good makeup kit. I got you the bag, brushes, and a beauty blender.”

It’s not that I never saw the cute blender; it’s just that I never used it. I had some brushes in my dresser, but they used to wake up only for parties.

My friend gave me a long dos and don’ts list about makeup techniques. She told me some shortcut ideas that you need to soak beauty blender in water and squeeze the excess water out of it before using that. But then she told me, “Listen, spray facial mist on this little guy in between your steps. That keeps this sponge hydrated.”

That was fun. It retained its bounce each time and it smoothly followed and helped me overcome my clumsy speed with the concealer and foundation. It became way more efficient with the mist. It just needed some shots of new energy, even if it was technically fully ready.

How do you think about your work efficiency? You probably have a preparation chart; you know how your system works; everyday you create your perfect schedule; and you’re ready. But do you know about your mist? What is that one thing that retains your bounce during your exhaustion phase? What is that one thing that slows down your brain cells’ storm?

I studied for this entire month how I bounce back even if I am exhausted. I did some multiple likable things during the small breaks of my intensive study time. If I go for short walks, or bake something, or watch any new episode, these things are quite capable of breaking my flow. These things work when I wrap up my work, but any of them don’t help me to rejuvenate during my work session. One thing I missed everyday and by default last Friday I bounced back enthusiastically with the play and pause touch. Music came out as the mist for my productivity.

In a study of University of Nevada, Reno researchers said, “Current findings indicate that music around 60 beats per minute can cause the brain to synchronize with the beat causing alpha brainwaves (frequencies from 8 - 14 hertz or cycles per second). This alpha brainwave is what is present when we are relaxed and conscious.” They also added, “Music is effective for relaxation and stress management.”

There’s no denying that music works as a catalyst to improve our focus. We are definitely not beauty blenders and we all do not have the same sinking feeling each day. But someday we lose pliability like that small sponge when we lack energy. That is the time when we question our abilities. And we dry down. Certain things are well articulated for our brain structure. When we have those resources right on our phones, then why not use them to build our overall mental and physical health? When earbuds hit that momentum, that brings out one or even multiple effective responses from us. And ultimately, that creates a new chapter of productivity. I call these beats the supporters of Ina.* When someone says they are done, some beats can change that decision.

(*In Sanskrit, Ina (इन).—a. means determined or anything that is powerful.)
